Retirement
Boarding: Board your retired horse in North Carolina
where the winters are moderate and allow for year round
pasture boarding. Monthly fee includes hay and 12% protein
grain as needed, regular deworming, hoof trims, grooming and
email updates. Horses have access to shelter and/or
stalls. Veterinarian expenses are not included. Senior
feed and/or supplements are provided at an extra fee.
Horse
ownership classes: Are you thinking about buying a
horse of your own? To help you understand the different
aspects of horse ownership we offer classes that can help
you decide if owning a horse is a good choice for you.
Topics include: Buying a horse, choosing tack, shelter and
fencing, nutrition, etc. Basic horse care is included. You
will learn how to groom a horse, lead and tie a horse, stall
cleaning, etc. Riding Instruction, optional for an
additional fee, includes lessons on mounting, steering,
stopping and other basic skills. There are 8 one hour
classes and may meet over several weeks or days and even an
all-day course, depending on the number of people in the
class and their needs. Fee is $80 for classes alone. With
riding Instruction which is an additional 8 hours the total
cost is $240. We offer a 10% discount for scout troops and
groups of 10 or more people.
Rehabilitation: Sometimes horses need special care to
recuperate from illness or injury. We can provide care
throughout the day and night. Extra-large stalls and
private paddocks are available. Because each case is
unique, please contact us to determine if our facilities and
resources are suitable for your horse’s needs. Fees are
based on each case.
Educational
demonstrations: If your school, church or other
organization would like an introduction to the world of
horses, an AES representative and a miniature horse will
come to you. A 15-30 minute lecture about horses, tailored
to meet the needs of your group will be presented by the AES
representative. No fee is charged for this service but a
donation is appreciated. |
